Nyepi Day, also known as “The Day of Silence” is one of the Balinese ceremonies to celebrate the Balinese New Year. This celebration takes 24 hours of silence, from 06.00 am on March 22nd to 06.00 am on March 23rd. For the Hindus people, Nyepi is a day of complete silence. There was a special ritual that called “Catur Brata Penyepian” it means four ascetic practices. They are “Amati Geni” (no fire), “Amati Karya” (no working/no activity), “Amati Lelungan” (no going out of the house/compound), “Amati Lelanguan” (no entertainment). The purpose of this day is for self-reflection, meditation, and to maintain the balance of the universe.
During Nyepi Day, the activities are very limited on the island, all streets, the airport, bus stations, and harbors remain closed for the entire day also outdoor activity is not allowed. All the lights and sounds will be remaining off. The only exceptions granted for emergency vehicles carrying those with life-threatening conditions and women about to give birth, ambulance, police patrol, and pecalang – traditional Balinese police.
This Nyepi, Grand Mirage Resort is offering two special Silence Day Nyepi Packages starting from IDR. 2.900.000 nett/package for the Premiere Garden View and IDR 3.100.000 nett/package for the Premiere Ocean View. The hotel packages included for 3 days 2 night (21st -23rd March 2023), buffet breakfast for two persons, 20% discount on food & beverages, additional lunch and dinner package on 22nd March available at IDR 500.000/pax (must be booked before check-in), free foam party on 23rd March, free non-motorized watersport (exclude 22nd march), valid for Indonesian citizen, KITAS holders only must be presented upon arrival (otherwise package could not be applied).
On Nyepi day, Bamboo Kids Club in the Family Paradise section will be open from 8.00 am until 05.00 pm, offering kids activities games center and indoor playground. However, our mini water park will be closed (pump off). The games center for adult in the building is open from 08.00 am until 11.00 pm.
The adult activities start at 09.00 am with Yoga Basic Class, Water Stretching, Water Volley, Lucky Games, Water Polo, and many more activities that will be completed until 06.00 pm. Breakfast time will be served in Grand Café and Ibu Kitchen from 07.00 am to 10.30 am. Lunch will be open in Grand Café, Jukung (open for lunch only), Ibu Kitchen, and Mahi-Mahi Restaurant from 12.00 pm – 03.00 pm, while the restaurant will be opened for dinner from 05.00 pm – 06.30 pm at Grand Café and Ibu Kitchen with the freshest ingredients in every single palates. However, room service is available.
Kindly request to all guests must remain within the resort from 06.00 am on 22nd to 06.00 am 23th and light outside of the rooms must be switched off, and guest need to keep the curtains closed and refrain from using any electronic devices that emit light, during Nyepi Day.
