Have you ever heard of Nyepi day or the day of silence?
Which marks the New Year according to the Balinese Caka calendar. This year, Nyepi falls on March 11th, 2024. The purpose of this day is for self-reflection, meditation, and maintaining the balance of the universe.

During Nyepi day, all outside activities are prohibited and certain rituals are strictly observed all over Bali. Lights and sounds remain off, including on all streets, at the airport, bus stations, and harbors which remain closed. The only exceptions are granted for emergency vehicles carrying those with life-threatening conditions and women about to give birth, ambulance, police patrol, and pecalang – traditional Balinese police.

There are four key elements called “Catur Brata Penyepian” as a special ritual on Nyepi day. These are “Amati Geni” (no fire), “Amati Karya” (no working/no activity), “Amati Lelungan” (no going out of the house/compound), “Amati Lelanguan” (no entertainment). This celebration begins at 6:00 am and continues through the next day at 6:00 am.

The Grand Mirage Resort is offering two special Silence Day Nyepi Packages starting from IDR. 2.100.000 nett/night for the Premiere Garden View and IDR 2.400.000 nett/night for the Premiere Ocean View, minimum 2 night stay is required for the packages for period stay 10 - 12 march 2024, stay experience for 2 adults and up to 2 children, inlcude breakfast, one time buffet dinner on 11th March, valid for Indonesian citizen and KITAS holders only.

On Nyepi day, Kids Club will be open from 8.00 am until 06.00 pm, offering kids activities games center and indoor playground. However, our mini water park will be closed (pump off). The Gym and Games Center for adult is open from 08.00 am until 06.00 pm.

The adult activities start at 09.00 am with Yoga Basic Class, Water Stretching, Water Volley, Lucky Games, and many more activities that will be completed until 17.30 pm. Breakfast time will be served in Grand Café and Ibu Kitchen from 07.00 am to 10.30 am. Lunch will be open at Jukung Restaurant (open for lunch only) and Mahi-Mahi Restaurant from 12.00 pm – 18.00 pm, while the restaurant will be opened for dinner from 16.00 pm – 18.00 pm at Grand Café and Ibu Kitchen with the freshest ingredients in every single palates. However, room service is available.

Kindly request to all guests must remain within the resort from 06.00 am on 11th to 06.00 am 12th and light outside of the rooms must be switched off, and guest need to keep the curtains closed and refrain from using any electronic devices that emit light, during Nyepi Day.
